How to Create New Layers in AutoCAD?

 To create a layer, Click the Layer Properties icon.

The following reveals the layers I created for the exercise above.

Each of your layers can be customized, for example, using its Linetype, line weight, transparency and plot Design.

Close the windows when you're done producing layers.

Manipulating Layers

To put an item in a layer, make sure that its coating is set to current once you are creating that object.

If I wish to draw a ring in the Small coating Circles, I will pick it before drawing.

If you created an item in the incorrect layer, don't worry, it's likely to put an already created element in a different coating.

Just choose the object, select the layers you want to have that thing in, And Press ESC on your computer.
